Query by christopherkathryn: What was the name of that game released a handful of years ago that could only be played when by one particular individual?
It was like a spy game, they would call, page, e-mail you at any hour and you would have to do things. Sorry, thats about all I know about it other then it was a laptop game not a console game.

EAs “Majestic”, an alternate reality game that involved phonecalls, email, and it was played in actual-time. It debuted in 2001, but was cancelled in 2002. It was inspired by the Michael Douglas movie “The Game”, which is recommended if you are interested in such items.
Also Proof: the Last Ritual. The French version of the game (only within France) offers (for a one-time fee) to send SMS messages to the player straight to their mobile phones, as well as the potential to get in touch with any of the characters and have a genuine phone conversation with them.
